About

I am a writer, not a survivalist. But, I like to learn things. I like to have skills. I never want to be the person who is stuck on the side of the road because they can't figure out how to change a tire. I don't want to have to call a plumber to fix a simple problem because I am ignorant of simple psychics and indoor pipes. I want to have the answers.

I am not tougher than you.  I, most likely, will not survive an actual apocalypse. Don't do what I do. I know nothing.

I also don't think the apocalypse is coming any faster than it ever has been. The Mayans were wrong, as is everyone who has already predicted the end of the world. Almost everyone who predicts it in the future will be wrong as well. I am much more interested in why we keep trying to predict it and what is it about the breakdown of society in the specifically apocalyptic way that fascinates people and makes them examine how it would be. I am not religious and not even what people refer to as spiritual.

I am also going to look at the culture of the apocalypse story. From early religions to favorite AMC shows, human beings have been imagining the end of the world for a long time and trying to parse out how it will go.
